John Voelker was named secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds, Madison.
Currently deputy secretary, Mr. Voelker assumes his new role on April 5, said ETF spokesman Mark Lamkins.
He will replace Bob Conlin, who is leaving the department in April to join his wife on the east coast after leading the organization since 2011.
The Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds oversees the administration of the $109.7 billion Wisconsin Retirement System and $5.9 billion Wisconsin Deferred Compensation Program.
