Mississippi Public Employees' Retirement System, Jackson, added the Wellington Small Cap equity fund to its watchlist, a spokeswoman for the $31.2 billion pension fund said in an email.
The decision to put the fund on watch, which was made at a board meeting Tuesday, was due to turnover of key personnel, the spokeswoman said.
The board also approved adding the Wellington fund to the watchlist of Mississippi PERS' $2.1 billion deferred compensation plan, also due to turnover of key personnel.
Wellington Management did not respond to an email seeking comment.
The board, however, approved removing one fund — the BNY Mellon EB US Real Estate fund — from the watchlist of the deferred compensation plan. It had been on watch since July 2019 because its rolling five-year relative performance lagged the benchmark.
