Ben Clissold was named head of fixed income and treasury of investment management at Universities Superannuation Scheme, London, a spokeswoman said.
The role is new. Effective January, Mr. Clissold will oversee developing and delivering fixed-income strategy of the £68 billion ($87 billion) fund and will manage its team covering government bonds, non-government and emerging debt, related derivatives, foreign exchange and treasury execution.
"I am very pleased to be welcoming (Mr. Clissold) to this key role in the team. (He) brings new skills and capabilities to USS as we continue to deliver market-leading returns for our members over the long-term," Simon Pilcher, CEO of USS Investment Management said in a news release.
Mr. Clissold worked as LDI portfolio manager at BlackRock Inc. since 2012, where he was responsible for managing LDI business across Europe, Middle East and Africa.
A spokeswoman could not be reached to comment about a replacement.
