Rosemary McClean was named pension benefits administrator of the $67.4 billion United Nations Joint Staff Pension Board, New York, said U.N. spokesman David Hunter.
The appointment by U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres is effective Jan. 1, 2020.
Ms. McClean will take on the responsibilities of acting CEO Janice Dunn Lee. Previous CEO Sergio B. Arvizú announced his resignation in November 2018 and left the position in January.
Ms. McClean is chief operating officer, enterprise operations, at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, Toronto. She has been with the C$201.4 billion ($151.6 billion) pension fund since 1986 and her last day will be Dec. 31, the pension fund announced in a news release.
