Texas Teacher Retirement System, Austin, will not replace Jase Auby as deputy CIO following his ascension to the role of CIO on Jan. 1.
Mr. Auby, who is replacing outgoing CIO Jerry Albright, told the board of the $157.6 billion fund at its meeting Friday that TRS will be led by a five-person executive committee, which will consist of himself; Sylvia Bell, chief operating officer; Katy Hoffman, chief of staff and chair of the internal investment committee; Eric Lang, head of private markets; and Dale West, head of public markets.
The board might discuss revisiting the deputy CIO position as part of any future succession planning in the coming years, said spokesman Rob Maxwell in an email.
Mr. Albright will stay on with the fund as senior managing director, global investment initiatives for up to a year to assist in the completion of multiple investment projects.
