Sandro Doudin will become head of asset management at Swiss federal pension fund PUBLICA, Bern, effective July 1.
Doudin will succeed Stefan Beiner, who is leaving the 40.5 billion Swiss francs ($45.6 billion) fund in February. Beiner has been at the pension fund for 16 years. He will become a partner at consulting firm c-alm on March 1.
“Sandro Doudin convinced us in particular with his profound knowledge in defining investment strategies and asset-liability management processes,” Doris Bianchi, director of PUBLICA, said in a statement.
Doudin is head of investment strategy/development at Versorgungsanstalt des Bundes und der Lander, Karlsruhe, Germany. The pension fund has around €60 billion ($63.2 billion) in assets. VBL has not yet named his replacement, a spokesperson said.
Doudin thanked the VBL team for good work over recent years in response to a question from Pensions & Investments. He highlighted that the fund’s investment strategy moved into the right direction with a clear vision, strong investment governance and robust processes.
