Lena Fahlen was named head of asset management at AP7, Stockholm, a spokesman confirmed.
The position is the equivalent of chief investment officer.
Ms. Fahlen will replace Per Olofsson in September. Mr. Olofsson, who has served as interim CIO, will return to his role as head of alternative investments at the 900 billion Swedish kronor ($83 billion) fund.
"Lena Fahlen is a top recruit that I look forward to working with. With her, we get a capital management manager with extensive experience in managing both management, analysis and capital market activities. She is an engaging leader who has shown great ability to develop various businesses," Pal Bergstrom, new CEO of AP7, said in a news release Thursday.
Ms. Fahlen is head of global fixed income and currencies at Handelsbanken Capital Markets. A recruitment process for her will begin immediately, a spokesman said.
