Katie Girardi was appointed executive director of San Luis Obispo County (Calif.) Pension Trust, effective Jan. 1, succeeding Carl A. Nelson, who retired at the end of December.
According to a note posted on SLOCPT's website, Girardi was selected following a nationwide internal and external search.
Girardi added that her contract as executive director is effective until terminated by either party and has no contract term limit.
Nelson initially joined the SLOCPT in 2009 as the deputy director and became executive director in 2013.
SLOCPT had about $1.6 billion in assets as of Sept. 30.
Girardi said she most recently served as retirement plan administrator at Oklahoma Municipal Retirement Fund, Oklahoma City, for eight years.
Jodi S. Cox, executive director and CEO of Oklahoma Municipal Retirement, said the pension fund is "currently interviewing" to fill Girardi's former position.
Oklahoma Municipal Retirement has $1.1 billion in assets, Cox confirmed.
