Johanna Shick plans to retire as the chief executive officer of the $4 billion San Joaquin County Employees' Retirement Association, Stockton, Calif., in March 2024, after seven years in the top spot.
Shick will continue to serve as CEO until her retirement and will assist the board in its nationwide search for her successor, the pension fund said a Nov. 2 news release.
An executive search firm will be chosen for this endeavor "in the coming months," the release noted.
For the one-year period ended June 30, the fund returned a net 5.4%, underperforming the benchmark return of 7%, according to the latest quarterly report.
For the three-, five- and 10-year periods through June 30, the fund delivered annualized net returns of 6.9%, 5.8% and 5.7%, respectively, compared to benchmark returns of 7.3%, 6.2% and 6.4%.
