Elizabeth Crisafi, chief investment officer of the $10.7 billion San Diego City Employees' Retirement System, will retire July 31, she confirmed.
She originally joined the pension fund in January 2008 as deputy CIO and ascended to the CIO role in January 2009.
Ms. Crisafi said in an email her plans for retirement include French lessons, learning to play the violin and watercolor painting. She also plans to continue volunteer work with organizations, including the Girl Scouts San Diego and the San Diego Foundation, as well as pursuing some corporate board or mutual fund work.
Ms. Crisafi said the retirement system, which announced her pending retirement at its board meeting Jan. 14, will search for an executive search firm to assist in finding her replacement, but the details have yet to be determined.
