Ryan Barrow was named executive director of the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority, Frankfort.
Barrow, who is currently executive director of the office of financial management in the Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet’s office of the controller, will assume the role on July 1 pending successful contract negotiations, according to a March 27 news release.
He will replace David Eager, who is retiring on June 30. In an October interview, Eager said he has typically signed two-year contracts for the position and elected to remain just for one year following the latest re-up in June. He has been executive director since 2018.
The Kentucky Public Pensions Authority oversees about $24 billion in pension fund and insurance plan assets of the Kentucky County Employees' Retirement System, and the Kentucky Retirement Systems, which consists of the Kentucky Employees' Retirement System and Kentucky State Police Retirement System.
