Phoenix City Employees' Retirement System returned a net 22.8% for the fiscal year ended June 30.
The $3.4 billion pension fund's net return fell below its policy benchmark return of 24.9% for the period, according to an investment report emailed by Greg Fitchet, investment officer.
For the three, five and 10 years ended June 30, the pension fund returned an annualized net 9.7%, 9.5% and 7.5%, respectively, below their respective benchmarks of 10.5%, 10% and 8.3%, respectively.
The pension fund returned a net 1.4% for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2020.
