Joseph A. Torta was named executive director of the Harrisburg-based Pennsylvania State Employees' Retirement System, the $39 billion pension plan announced.
He replaces Terrill "Terri" Sanchez, who will retire Dec. 31.
Mr. Torta is deputy executive director, and director of member and participant services.
Pamela Hile, a spokeswoman for the state pension system, could not be immediately reached for additional information.
