Prabha Ram has joined OMERS Capital Markets, the capital markets investment division of Ontario Municipal Employees' Retirement System, Toronto, as managing director-global equities.
Ms. Ram is based in New York and reports to Kannan Venkataramani, senior managing director-global equities, according to a Monday news release.
In her role, Ms. Ram will "lead the overall management of the core public equities portfolio, contribute to the development and evolution of its investment framework, and help build a best-in-class capability to generate consistent long term returns for OMERS members," the release noted.

She added: "Tim Lechleider joined the team as an investment analyst effective October 1. We are currently searching for an additional investment analyst."
As of June 30, OMERS had net assets of C$119.5 billion ($92.8 billion), according to its midyear investment update.
