Aaron Hood was named interim executive director of the $97.2 billion Ohio State Teachers Retirement System, Columbus.
He started Nov. 18, a spokesperson said. Hood helped to found financial services firm Perella Weinberg Partners in 2006 and in his 13 years with the firm served in various positions, including chief financial officer and head of its asset management division.
Hood is currently finance senior fellow at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Previously, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Summit Carbon Solutions.
Hood is replacing Lynn Hoover, acting executive director and CFO of the pension fund, who will retire Dec. 1.
Hoover has held the acting position since November 2023 when William Neville, executive director, was placed on administrative leave pending a personnel-related investigation by an outside third party and that local news outlets had said was the result of an anonymous allegation of harassment against STRS employees.
Neville will retire Dec. 1 by mutual agreement with STRS in a deal that includes a $1.65 million buyout.
A search is underway for a permanent executive director.
