Northrop Grumman Corp., Falls Church, Va., contributed $120 million to its defined benefit plans in 2019.
The company also plans to contribute $96 million to the plans in 2020, according to a 10-K filing with the SEC.
The 2019 contribution exceeded the $91 million the company originally said in its previous 10-K filing it planned to contribute for the year.
Northrop Grumman did not provide information on how the contributions are split between U.S. and non-U.S. plans.
As of Dec. 31, global defined benefit plan assets totaled $30.646 billion, while projected benefit obligations totaled $36.914 billion, for a funding ratio of 83%, down from 84.2% a year earlier.
The discount rate as of Dec. 31 was 3.39%, down from 4.31% a year earlier.
As of Dec. 31, the actual allocation of the global defined benefit plans was: 28.9% fixed income; 27.8% international equities; 14% U.S. equities; 8.8% cash and cash equivalents; 7.7% private equity; 7.4% real estate; 4.6% opportunistic investments; and 0.8% hedge funds.
