Anastasia Titarchuk was named chief investment officer of the New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, said Thomas P. DiNapoli, state comptroller and sole trustee of the $210 billion pension fund, in a news release Thursday.
Ms. Titarchuk has been interim CIO since July 2018, following the retirement of Vicki Fuller.
"The comptroller's decision was made in consultation with his internal investment advisory committees," said Matthew Sweeney, a spokesman for Mr. DiNapoli, in an email. "There was not a national search."
Ms. Titarchuk joined the comptroller's office in 2011. Prior to becoming interim CIO, she had been deputy CIO since February 2015.
"Anastasia Titarchuk's leadership and talents as a skilled investor are reflected in the success of our state's pension fund," Mr. DiNapoli said in the news release. "Through prudent management, the fund has maintained its status as one of the nation's strongest and best funded."
