Andrew Siwo was named director of sustainable investments and climate solutions at the $215.4 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, said a news release from the office of Thomas P. DiNapoli, state comptroller and sole trustee of the pension fund.
The position is new. Mr. Siwo will help the pension fund implement its climate action plan by overseeing a $12 billion commitment to its climate solutions program. He will also train investment teams on how to further integrate environmental, social and governance factors into their investment selection decisions.
He will report to Anastasia Titarchuk, the pension fund's chief investment officer.
Mr. Siwo was an investment director and head of mission-related investing at Colonial Consulting, focusing on socially responsible investing, ESG and impact investments. He has not yet been replaced, Colonial spokeswoman Aidyn Urena said.
