New Hampshire Retirement System, Concord, returned a net 1.1% for the fiscal year ended June 30, spokesman Marty Karlon said in an email.
The $9.1 billion pension fund's return fell below its benchmark return of 4.8%.
For the three, five and 10 years ended June 30, the pension fund returned an annualized net 5.2%, 5.9% and 8.7%, respectively, below the respective benchmarks of 6.7%, 6.9% and 9.3%.
NHRS returned a net 5.7% for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2019.
