Nevada Public Employees' Retirement System, Carson City, returned a net 8.5% in the fiscal year ended June 30, said Stephen J. Edmundson, investment officer.
The $44.1 billion pension fund exceeded its policy benchmark of 8.3% for the fiscal year. For the three, five and 10 years ended June 30, the pension fund returned an annualized net 9.7%, 7.1% and 9.9%, respectively, compared to respective benchmarks of 7%, 9.9% and 9.2%.
The pension fund returned a net 8.6% for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2018.
By asset class, private equity led the way with a net return of 18.4%, followed by domestic equities at 10.4%, private real estate at 8.1%, domestic fixed income at 7.3% and international equities at 1.8%.
