Navistar International Corp., Lisle, Ill., expects to contribute about $335 million to its pension plans in the fiscal year beginning Nov. 1, spokeswoman Bre Whalen confirmed Thursday.
The company also disclosed that it estimates it will contribute $200 million each in fiscal years 2022 and 2023 depending on discount rates and investment performance.
The contribution for fiscal year 2021 ending Oct. 31, 2021 includes $162 million deferred from 2020 under the provisions of the CARES Act.
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act, signed by President Donald J. Trump on March 27, provides companies the option of a one-year holiday from making 2020 pension contributions.
Navistar had already contributed $30 million to its plans in the quarter ended Jan. 31, it disclosed in an earlier 8-K filing.
