T.J. Carlson was named chief investment officer at Missouri State Employees’ Retirement System, Jefferson City, confirmed spokeswoman Candy Smith in an email.
Effective Oct. 1, Mr. Carlson replaces Shannon Davidson, who is retiring from the $9 billion pension fund on Nov. 1.
He will report to Ronda Stegmann, MOSERS’ executive director.
Mr. Carlson is chief investment officer at the $34.5 billion Texas Municipal Retirement System, Austin. He was named to the position in 2013. A TMRS spokeswoman confirmed his departure but declined to comment further.
