M. Steve Yoakum, executive director of the $45.6 billion Missouri Public School and Education Employee Retirement Systems, Jefferson City, will retire on Dec. 1.
"Serving as the executive director of PSRS/PEERS has been the highlight of my career, but after much personal and professional consideration, I have decided it is time to step down," Mr. Yoakum said in a news release issued Monday by PSRS/PEERS.
Executive recruiting firm EFL Associates will assist the board in the search for a replacement.
The board hopes to name his replacement before Nov. 30, PSRS/PEERS spokeswoman Susan Wood said in an email.
There is currently no plan to name an interim executive director. If a replacement has not been appointed by the end of November, an interim executive director will then be named.
