Scott Day was named chief investment officer of the Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System, Jefferson City, effective May 1.
Day succeeds Brian Collett, who retired from the $10.6 billion pension fund Jan. 31, said a news release April 3.
Collett now serves as a managing director at Miami-based global infrastructure investment manager I Squared Capital.
Megan Loehner, deputy CIO of LAGERS, has been overseeing the day-to-day management of the portfolio in the interim. Loehner will continue as deputy CIO, a spokesperson said.
Day most recently served as the deputy CIO for the School and Institutional Trust Fund Office, Salt Lake City, where he helped oversee the $3.5 billion permanent fund.
A spokesperson for SITFO said its board of trustees will “determine next steps on filling” Day’s former role, but added that SITFO is “focused on its culture and talent and can afford to be patient in its search for a new member of the team.”
