The Mississippi Public Employees’ Retirement System, Jackson, is looking to replace former chief investment officer Lorrie Tingle who retired in June.
The $25.8 billion pension fund has posted a job opening for the CIO position on the National Association of State Retirement Administrators’ website.
Charles Nielsen, the fund’s former lead portfolio manager, will serve as interim CIO until Ms. Tingle’s replacement is hired, according to Shelley Powers, the fund’s communications director.
Mr. Nielsen replaces former interim CIO Andrew T. Hoeniges, who left Oct. 16 to pursue “a great opportunity in the private sector,” the fund’s executive director Ray Higgins said in a statement.
The CIO position pays $128,242 to $224,424 a year and involves “planning and directing the activities of the Investment Division of the Public Employees Retirement System to ensure the prudent management of the investment assets,” according to the job description on NASRA’s website.
The job listing expires Dec. 17. Interested candidates should send a resume to Allison Vowell, human resources director, by close of business Nov. 1.
