Robert Clark was named chief investment officer of the $29.6 billion Mississippi Public Employees' Retirement System, Jackson, said Shelley Powers, pension fund spokeswoman.
Mr. Clark, who joined the pension fund Tuesday, replaces Lorrie Tingle, who retired in June.
Charles Nielsen, the pension fund's lead portfolio manager, has served as interim CIO since October when prior interim CIO Andrew T. Hoeniges left the pension fund to pursue an opportunity in the private sector. Mr. Nielsen now returns to his previous role.
Mr. Clark was previously a portfolio manager with Southeastern Trust Co., a Chattanooga, Tenn.-based family office manager.
