Lorrie Tingle has retired as chief investment officer of the $25.8 billion Mississippi Public Employees' Retirement System, Jackson, spokeswoman Shelley Powers said in an email.
Ms. Tingle's retirement was effective June 30. She had led the investments department since June 1996, Ms. Powers said.
Andrew T. Hoeniges, the pension fund's deputy CIO, is now serving as interim CIO.
"Currently, our focus is on continuity and transition. Long-term staffing needs will be assessed at a later time," said Ray Higgins, executive director, in a statement emailed by Ms. Powers.
Ms. Powers did not provide further information on Ms. Tingle's future plans.
