James Bennett was named chief investment officer of the $14.9 billion Maine Public Employees Retirement System, Augusta.
Mr. Bennett, who has been acting CIO since the resignation of prior CIO Andrew Sawyer in November, will officially become CIO on Thursday, said Sandy Matheson, executive director, in an email.
Before November, Mr. Bennett had served as MainePERS' deputy CIO since 2014. Further information about the deputy CIO position was not available.
