Maine Public Employees Retirement System, Augusta, posted a net return of 4.7% on assets of $18.8 billion for the fiscal year ended June 30.
The unaudited results were contained in a report presented at the pension fund's board of trustees monthly meeting Aug. 10.
The fiscal-year results trailed the benchmark of 5.7%. The three-year annualized return of 11% topped the benchmark of 10.8%. The five-year annualized return of 8.4% exceeded the benchmark of 7.9%.
The largest components of the pension fund's 10 asset allocation categories are public equity (25.7%), private equity (19.1%), infrastructure (12.1%) and real estate (10.1%).
For the fiscal year ended June 30, 2022, the pension fund return a net 3.3% on assets of $19 billion, according to the MainePERS annual financial report.
