Joanne Darbyshire was named managing director of Local Pensions Partnership Administration, a new unit of the Local Pensions Partnership, London, a spokeswoman confirmed.
The role at the £18.8 billion ($23.2 billion) pool of local authority pension funds is new.
Ms. Darbyshire is responsible for creating a pensions administration service for LPP and focuses on efficient operations, participant communication and risk and data management, a news release said.
Ms. Darbyshire was director of pensions administration at LPP. Following a reorganization, her previous post will not be filled, the spokeswoman said.
"Jo has delivered exceptional results leading the administration business of LPP since last year, and she is the ideal candidate to drive and grow LPPA, building on the operational and performance results her team has already delivered," Chris Rule, CEO of LPP, said in the news release.
LPPA provides administration services to more than 600,000 plan participants.
