Louisiana State Employees' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, returned a gross 35.6% for the fiscal year ended June 30, confirmed Laney Sanders, assistant chief investment officer, in an email.
The $13.9 billion pension fund also reported annualized gross returns of 10.8%, 11.5% and 8.7% for the three, five and 10 years ended June 30.
LASERS returned a gross -3.8% for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2020.
For the latest fiscal year ended June 30, total equities returned a gross 44.6%. Total alternatives returned a net 39.2% for the period, while total fixed income returned 14.3%, which the report said contains both gross and net returns.

As of June 30, LASERS' actual asset allocation was: 21.6% domestic large-cap equities; 19.7% private markets; 10.6% international large-cap equities; 10.1% global multisector fixed income; 9.3% emerging markets equities; 5.4% each to international small-cap equities and domestic small-cap equities; 4.4% domestic midcap equities; 4.1% absolute return; 3.4% emerging markets debt; 2.4% core fixed income; 2.3% high-yield fixed income; and 1.3% cash equivalents.
