Louisiana State Employees posts -3.8% fiscal-year return

Louisiana State Employees' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, returned a gross -3.8% for the fiscal year ended June 30, according to an investment report on its website.

The $10.7 billion pension fund also returned an annualized gross 3.2%, 4.4% and 7.7% for the three, five and 10 years ended June 30.

LASERS returned a gross 4.4% for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2019.

For the fiscal year ended June 30, total fixed income returned 0.7%, which the report said contains both gross and net returns. Total alternatives returned a net -2.6% for the period, while total equities returned a gross -6%.

As of June 30, LASERS' actual allocation was: 18.1% private markets; 12.3% domestic large-cap equities; 12.1% international large-cap equities; 10.4% global multisector fixed income; 10.1% emerging markets equities; 5.3% absolute return; 5.1% risk parity; 4.9% international small-cap equities; 4.6% cash equivalents; 4.5% domestic small-cap equities; 3.8% domestic midcap equities; 3.4% emerging markets debt; 3% core fixed income; and 2.4% high-yield fixed income.
