Joseph Salazar was named general manager of Los Angeles Fire & Police Pensions.
The $29.7 billion pension fund's board named Mr. Salazar the new permanent head of the pension fund at its Jan. 19 meeting, a news release said Monday.
He has served as interim general manager since the September retirement of longtime general manager Ray Ciranna.
Mr. Salazar was previously assistant general manager of the pension fund.
Still pending is LAFPP's search for a new chief investment officer, who will report to Mr. Salazar. Previous CIO Ray Joseph resigned in May for personal reasons after 11 months on the job. Tom Lopez, who had retired as CIO in 2021, has been serving as interim CIO.
Officials at the pension fund could not be immediately reached for further information.
