Vanessa Shia was named head of private markets at London CIV, according to a news release on the pensions pool's website.
The role is new. Ms. Shia works with London CIV's advisers to develop a private markets portfolio for the pool of local authority pension funds in London.
"I am so pleased to welcome Vanessa to the team. She brings with her a wealth of experience in private markets and I am confident that her position will be of great value to the London CIV as we continue to develop our portfolio of funds, in partnership with our 32 client funds," Jason Fletcher, CIO, said in a news release.
London CIV ran £20.9 billion ($26.9 billion) in assets as of Sept. 30. The pool has £506 million in illiquid assets.
Ms. Shia was a principal at Pennant Capital Partners. A spokesman could not be reached for comment.
