Rob Treich was named head of public markets at London CIV, a pool of London local authority pension funds, according to a news release Thursday.
The position is new. Mr. Treich is responsible for London CIV's public equity, fixed income and multiasset investments.
"We are pleased to welcome Rob to the London CIV team," CEO Mike O'Donnell said in the news release. "He brings with him a wealth of experience, and his appointment is a key milestone in consolidating a strong investment team that will enable us to continue to effectively manage and develop our portfolio of funds, in partnership with our 32 client funds."
Mr. Treich was most recently director of investment solutions at Coal Pension Trustees Services, Sheffield, England, which manages the assets of the £9.5 billion ($13 billion) British Coal Staff Superannuation Scheme and £11.7 billion Mineworkers' Pension Scheme. A spokeswoman could not be reached for details about his replacement.
London CIV had £13.9 billion in assets as of Aug. 31.
