Gordon Ross was named permanent CIO at LGPS Central Ltd., Wolverhampton, England, effective July 1.
Mr. Ross has been interim CIO at the local government pension scheme pool, whose eight member funds have £45 billion ($54.4 billion) in assets, since the departure of Jason Fletcher in April. Mr. Fletcher will join the £16.7 billion London Collective Investment Vehicle as CIO in July.
LGPS Central currently manages about £20 billion of its member pension funds' assets.
Mr. Ross has been deputy CIO since March 2019. There is no immediate replacement, but Mr. Ross will review the situation, a spokesman said.
"He has played a vital role in the success that LGPS Central Ltd. has had since inception," CEO Mike Weston said in a news release. "I'm sure that his client-focused approach will help us to enhance the services and products we offer to our partner funds, and our investments team will go from strength to strength under his leadership."
