L3Harris Technologies Inc., Melbourne, Fla., has disclosed $302 million in voluntary pension contributions in the first quarter of fiscal year 2020.
The contributions funded with cash were made in the quarter ended Sept. 27, confirmed company spokesman Jim Burke. He said the company would not disclose whether it plans to contribute any more to the plans during the current fiscal year ending June 30, 2020
L3Harris did not disclose to which pension plan it made the contribution but its U.S. Salaried Retirement Plan has $4.4 billion of the company's total $4.96 billion in pension plan assets as of June 28, according to the company's latest 10-K filing.
The company contributed $3 million to its pension plans in the fiscal year ended June 28.
Total pension plan assets as of June 28 were $4.96 billion, while projected benefit obligations totaled $6.12 billion, for a funding ratio of 81%.
Company spokesman Jim Burke could not immediately provide further information.
