Bruce Fink was named chief investment officer of the $24.8 billion Kansas Public Employees Retirement System, Topeka, a news release said Friday.
He replaces Elizabeth B.A. Miller, who retired on July 8. Mr. Fink, deputy CIO for public markets for the pension fund since September 2013, has been serving as interim CIO since Ms. Miller’s departure.
Ms. Miller’s retirement brought an end to her second tenure as CIO at the pension fund. She had rejoined KPERS in 2011 after serving as its first CIO from 1991 to 1996.
Before joining KPERS, Mr. Fink had been director of investments at Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Ind., and had worked in various investment management roles for the cities of Cincinnati and Orlando, Fla., and the state of Indiana.
