Jim Roehner was named executive director of the Kansas City (Mo.) Public School Retirement System.
He replaces Christine Gierer, who will retire from the $701 million pension fund on June 1, Ms. Gierer confirmed. Mr. Roehner began Monday to work with Ms. Gierer to implement a smooth transition.
Ms. Gierer, who joined the retirement system as executive director in September 2015, said she plans to spend her retirement exploring “various equestrian trails throughout the U.S. with her husband and their Missouri Foxtrotters, and play with her new grandson.”
Mr. Roehner was previously deputy executive director of the $3 billion Fairfax County Educational Employees' Supplementary Retirement System, Springfield, Va. Officials at the Fairfax pension fund could not be immediately reached for further information.
