Iowa Municipal Fire & Police Retirement System, West Des Moines, is searching for a deputy chief investment officer for the $2.7 billion pension fund, confirmed Terry Slattery, executive director and chief investment officer, in an email.
The position is new. The deputy CIO will work closely with Mr. Slattery and investment consultant Marquette Associates to oversee the retirement system's externally managed investment portfolio. Mr. Slattery will retire Dec. 31, and Dan Cassady, deputy director, will replace him at that time.
