Michael Schlachter was named chief investment officer of the $23.3 billion Illinois State Universities Retirement System, a Nov. 3 news release said.
He will take over on March 1, 2024, when current CIO Douglas Wesley retires.
Schlachter will join the Champaign-based retirement system on Nov. 14 with the title of CIO designee, and he and Wesley will share responsibilities until March.
Schlachter was most recently a managing director and senior portfolio manager at Los Angeles Capital Management. Officials at the firm could not be immediately reached for further information.
