Richelle Sugiyama was named chief investment officer of the Idaho Public Employee Retirement System, Boise, according to a news release from the $21 billion pension plan.
She replaces Bob Maynard, who is retiring from the plan after serving 30 years as CIO. Ms. Sugiyama was previously an investment officer for the pension fund. She also serves on the boards of several other investment organizations, including as vice chairwoman of the $3 billion Idaho Endowment Fund Investment Board.
"The PERSI Board is excited Richelle Sugiyama has accepted the position of CIO for PERSI. She has been heavily involved with our investment portfolio for many years," said board Chairman Jeff Cilek. "Mr. Maynard leaves behind a stellar track record as well as very big shoes to fill, and we are confident Ms. Sugiyama will help keep PERSI on the right track."
