Hans Sterte will leave his role as CIO at Swedish pension fund Alecta in November, a spokesman said.
Mr. Sterte's future plans are not clear, the spokesman said.
Magnus Billing, CEO at the 1.23 trillion Swedish kronor ($116.1 billion) pension fund, will be acting CIO while the Stockholm-based fund searches for a replacement. A recruitment process is underway, the spokesman added.
Mr. Sterte joined Alecta in 2018. He also has held roles at insurance companies Skandia and Lansforsakringar.
