Georgia Teachers chalks up 29.2% return

Georgia Teachers' Retirement System, Atlanta, returned 29.2% for the fiscal year ended June 30, according to its recently released comprehensive financial annual report.

The $102.2 billion pension fund also reported annualized returns of 13.3%, 12.3% and 9.8%, respectively, for the three, five and 10 years ended June 30.

The CAFR did not specify whether the returns were gross or net of fees and did not provide benchmark information.

The pension fund returned 2.9% for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2020.

For the most recent fiscal year, the CAFR said equities returned 42.7% for the year ended June 30, while fixed income returned -1.8%.

As of June 30, the pension fund's actual allocation was 73.8% equities, 26.1% fixed income and 0.1% private equity.
