Anirudh Chowdhry resigned as investment officer at the $5.9 billion Fresno County (Calif.) Employees' Retirement Association after less than a year in the position, he said in an Oct. 31 phone interview.
Chowdhry declined to provide further comment. He joined the pension fund as its top investment official in December to work with investment consultants in managing public and private investments.
Before joining FCERA, Chowdhry was an assistant manager at the $137.2 billion New York State Teachers' Retirement System, Albany, focusing on external fixed-income managers.
Donald Kendig, FCERA's retirement plan administrator, said the pension fund will be filling the position internally.
