Monica Adractas was named head of venture capital funds for the C$400.6 billion ($302.5 billion) Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Toronto, a news release said.
Ms. Adractas will head the development and implementation of the board's new venture capital funds program, identifying venture capital fund opportunities and managing fund commitments.
She will work from the board's newly established San Francisco office, its second U.S. location after New York.
Ms. Adractas was previously at Facebook Inc., where she was most recently global director of Workplace, an online collaboration tool offered by the social media giant.
CPPIB spokesman Darryl Konynenbelt could not be immediately reached to provide further information.
