Priti Singh was named senior managing director and global head of capital markets and factor investing at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, effective May 2.
Ms. Singh will be responsible for "leading the external portfolio management, active macro and quantitative strategies and risk premia groups," the board said in a news release Thursday.
She will succeed Poul Winslow, who is retiring from the board after 13 years with the firm, the release noted.
Ms. Singh joined CPP Investments in 2008 and most recently was managing director, head of external portfolio management and interim head of strategy and operations, the release said. A decision on her replacement in that post has not been made, a board spokesman said.
Based in Toronto, CPP Investment Board oversees management of the Canada Pension Plan, which had assets of C$550.4 billion ($430.6 billion), as of Dec. 31.
