Denise Stake was named principal investment officer, real assets, for the Connecticut Retirement Plans & Trust Funds, Hartford, said Michelle Woods-Matthews, spokeswoman for Shawn T. Wooden, state treasurer and principal fiduciary of the $43 billion state pension system
Ms. Stake, who joined the pension fund Tuesday, oversees the system's $5.2 billion real assets portfolio. She replaces Danita Johnson, who left the pension fund in June. In July, Ms. Johnson joined the $68.5 billion Maryland State Retirement & Pension System, Baltimore, as managing director of real assets, according to that system's July 20 board meeting minutes.
Ms. Stake was managing director, portfolio manager, at Barings. Barings spokeswoman Cheryl Krauss could not be immediately reached for comment.
