Mary Cavallaro was named interim executive director of the $11.1 billion Chicago Public School Teachers' Pension & Retirement Fund, spokeswoman Michelle L. Holleman said in an email.
She replaces Charles A. Burbridge, who submitted his resignation on Sept. 30. His last day was Oct 14.
Ms. Cavallaro has been deputy executive director of the pension fund since 2017.
The pension fund is now beginning a national search for a permanent executive director; specific details of the search have not yet been determined.
