Andrew K. Kelsen was named interim chief investment officer of the Chicago Public School Teachers' Pension & Retirement Fund, confirmed Michelle L. Holleman, spokeswoman for the pension fund, in an email.
Effective Aug. 19, he replaced Angela Miller-May, who on Aug. 16 became CIO of the $53.1 billion Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, Oak Brook.
Mr. Kelsen will oversee management of the pension fund's $13.1 billion investment portfolio while the board seeks a permanent CIO. He reports to Carlton W. Lenoir Sr., executive director.
Mr. Kelsen is a portfolio manager for alternative investments at the pension fund. He will continue to manage the alternative investment portfolio, Ms. Holleman said.
